D.A.R.E is not a government funded organisation. Yes, you read that right! If we could pay our vet, training and health team with blood, sweat and tears, we would be able to help 5 times the animals…. Trust us! Despite being in 2020’s, our currency is still money and so we rely on the generous support of the community to help us with our mission of saving animals.
Our mission is to save as many animals from euthanasia, provide them with every opportunity to succeed and flourish and to help reduce the numbers of unwanted animals through education in the community. It starts with YOU! Thank you for believing in us and all that we do. Your support will make a huge impact in the lives of the animals we save, we are forever grateful!
MONEY
We spare no expense when it comes to animals in our care. Every animal leaves desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and with a full health check. Full health checks can include heart worm tests, blood panels and faecal floats. Often these can present hidden nasties such as cancers, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, parasites and other ailments. These can skyrocket into the thousands very quickly.
In addition, many animals require training, physiotherapy, a chiropractor or special dietary requirements. Our neonates need full bottle packs, formula, mousse, probiotics, colostrum, starter biscuits, transitional food and worming every 2 weeks. This is all before they are mature enough to have all their vet work done. All donations above $2 are tax deductible, and using the form will get you an emailed receipt!

If you want to choose exactly where your money goes then you can choose to donate items of your choosing to our rescue. We value items just as much as we do monetary donations.

TIME
Time is just as precious as any item. As we are volunteers, as the expression goes, many hands make light work. We need kind, passionate people willing to donate their time to the rescue. We have many volunteer roles waiting for people who DARE to make a difference.
